Itinerary
We leave Cusco heading south to explore the South Valley, a region rich in history and culture. Our first stop is Tipón, an impressive Incan archaeological complex known for its agricultural terraces and irrigation canals that still function perfectly. Our guide will explain the importance of Tipón as an agricultural and religious research center.
We continue to Pikillacta, an ancient pre-Incan city of the Wari culture, noted for its advanced urban planning and architecture. This site offers a fascinating insight into life before the arrival of the Incas. Our last stop is Andahuaylillas, where we will visit the church of San Pedro, also known as the “Sistine Chapel of America” due to its impressive frescoes and interior decoration. Here, our guide will provide us with information about the history and cultural significance of the church. We return to Cusco with a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the South Valley.
